West Village Real Estate Information

A neighborhood located within the city of Dallas, the West Village, Texas, area is a retail and residential region in the city's uptown area. The neighborhood is generally considered to be the area on and around McKinney Avenue, the uptown area of Dallas's main thoroughfare. It is just west of the Turtle Creek neighborhood and only one mile north of downtown Dallas. The real estate selection in the West Village consists of 170 residential properties in multi-family units that sits on the higher floors above the 150,000 square feet of commercial space below it, made up of bars, restaurants and shops. Though it shares its name, the region has no relation to New York City's West Village.

For traveling in and about the West Village of Dallas, there is direct access available to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system's bus routes, as well as the McKinney Trolley, which travels up and down the main road and provides riders a free shuttle about the area. The Katy Trail is an old Missouri Kansas Texas railway that was converted into a biking/running trail in 1992 and is popular for runners, joggers and cyclists.

The West Village's main attraction is the historic Magnolia Theatre, which features five screens. Locally produced and independent films are often shown here and there are several events, panels and discussions held at theater, often to coincide with regional and local film festivals and entertainment events.
