Lake Highlands Real Estate Information

A neighborhood located within the city of Dallas, Lake Highlands, Texas, is an area that is typically associated with East Dallas, but is physically located closer to northern Dallas. It sits north of White Rock Lake and White Rock Lake Park, east of Central Expressway, west of Garland and south of Richardson. It includes an area of approximately 15 square miles and is just off Interstate 635.

Real estate in the area runs the gamut, with properties beginning in the $100,000 range going all the way up to the $800,000 to $1 million range. Though it is physically located within the city limits of Dallas, the community has more of a feel as that of a smaller city, and its residents are quite friendly. The area's borders area about the same as the borders of Dallas's City Council District 10.

Neighborhoods within Lake Highlands include Alexander's Village, Hamilton Park, Highland Meadows, L Streets, Merriman Park/University Manor, Moss Farm, Northwood Heights, Town Creek and Woodbridge. Children of those living in the community will be zoned to the Richardson Independent School District, as Lake Highlands if one of the largest communities in Dallas that is not a part of the Dallas Independent School District. Twelve elementary schools, two middle schools, a freshman center and a high school serve students. Richland College, a school that is part of the Dallas County Community College District, is found here as well.

The community has almost two dozen churches and worship centers, and it is nearby to a couple of stops on the DART light rail system: On the blue line LBJ/Skillman Station, and on the red line, the Forest Lane and LBJ/Central stations. It is also situated just minutes from the Dallas Athletic Club and Amberton University.
