Farmers Branch Real Estate Information

An inner-ring suburb of Dallas and a mid-sized city, Farmers Branch, Texas, sits on 12 square miles within the borders of Dallas County. Its population was just under 28,000 at the 2000 census, when residents had an annual median household income of just around $55,000. The town is just 10 minutes away from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, and just 15 minutes from the Dallas Love Field airport, ensuring residents who live here have easy access in and out. The town is a small hub for businesses, with a number of corporations located in the frontage area along Interstate 635, the Dallas North Tollway and Interstate 35E. The land here along I-635 is an extension of the Irving Prairie office park. To get into Dallas and surrounding areas, residents have easy access by way of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit bus system, with both regular and express routes. By 2010, the city is expected to begin having a stop along the DART light rail line on the to-be-constructed Green Line, which will run from Pleasant Grove in the southeastern part of the county up to downtown Dallas.

Most children who reside in Farmers Branch attend schools in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District, though the Dallas Independent School District also serves a small portion of the town. Post-secondary institutions in the city include Dallas Christian College, a four-year Bible college, and Brookhaven College, a community college of the Dallas County Community College District.
