Bluffview Real Estate Information

An upscale suburban neighborhood, Bluffview, Texas, lies in the northern section of the city of Dallas. Because it is a neighborhood of the city and not a town in its own right, population and other statistics are hard to come by, but the area is one of the more affluent and desirable areas of Dallas, with valuable real estate of all types. The community is just east of Dallas Love Field airport, and not far from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

The neighborhood lies just seven miles north of Dallas's downtown area and it is just west of highway 77. The community is very close to the major medical center in Dallas, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, one of the largest medical complexes in the country, including more than 230 acres of research centers within three degree-granting institutions and four hospitals. For those employed in the medical center, living in Bluffview makes for an excellent and quick commute.

To get an idea of which properties lie within Bluffview, its boundaries consist of the following: Lover's Lane to the south, Midway Road to the west, Northwest Highway (Loop 12) to the north and Inwood Road and the Devonshire neighborhood to the east. The neighborhood originated as the Bluff View Estates area, created by developer John P. Stevens who bought a 215-acre diary farm along Bachman Creek in 1924. He then split the land into one-acre lots and began to develop the area, which was annexed into the city of Dallas in 1943.

School-aged children and teens living in Bluffview are served by the Dallas Independent School District and attend Sudie L. Williams Elementary School (physically situated within Bluffview), Benjamin Franklin Middle School and Hillcrest High School. There is also the nearby Holy Trinity Catholic School offering a private, religious alternative for those in grades PK-8. The outdoors can be experienced and enjoyed at the Bachman Creek Greenbelt and in Bluff View Park.
